John Sam Hill moved to Fairfield Glade in
April of 2004 and joined the Art Guild. His work was first viewed
by the community at the Award Show in 2004 where he accepted third place
in the advanced watercolor group. The next year Sam won "Best of
Show" that is pictured at the left.
Sam began painting in Ohio in
1982 and has studied with some of the country's foremost watercolor
painters, such as Nita Leland, Fred Graff, Frank Webb, Joan Rothermel, and Fred
Leach.
He is presently a signature member of
the O.W.S. (Ohio Watercolor Society), W.P.A. (Whiskey Painters of
America), past board member of the Dayton Society of Painters and
Sculptors and |

is an associate member of the American
Watercolor Society.
Sam's work can be found in private
collections nationally, in colleges and institutions of higher learning
throughout the Midwest and in hospitals in the Dayton, Ohio area.
His work has been shown in galleries throughout the country and accepted
in national and regional juried competitions, such as New Orleans,
Boston and Chicago.
His love of art was inspired by his
mother. His choice of producing work is in his studio and painting
on location. His subject matter varies, but he is best known for
his florals and architecture. |
