Kay has been painting more than 50 years; pastel
is her preferred medium, that she has taught at the Oak Ridge Center.
She has exhibited both watercolor and pastels in Pennsylvania,
California, New Mexico, and all around Tennessee. Her favorite
subjects are landscapes, people, and dogs. She also enjoys amateur
photography and hand built ceramics. Her greatest ambition she
says; "Part of my soul is to get something published in The Pastel
Journal." Kay's formal education
includes a Master of Education with a minor in fine arts from
Pennsylvania State University. She has taken numerous classes in
watercolor and pastel over the years.
A transplanted Pennsylvanian from Harrisburg,
she calls herself a "Yankee-Tennessean", having lived in Oak Ridge
for 36 years. Kay and husband Jack live in a wooded area where she
finds beautiful scenes to paint her plein air pastels. |
