Brittany
Shelton, who has loved art "since I was a little girl," and a recent
graduate of Cumberland County High School, has been selected winner of
the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade's fine art scholarship award for 2007.
Brittany thanked the Art Guild at their monthly meeting Tuesday, where
she was awarded $1600.00 to be applied to her tuition expenses at Nossi
College of Art, Nashville campus. She has been accepted for study
at the private school and will enroll this fall.
In her interview with the Art Guild scholarship
committee, Brittany, 17, proudly told them she was one of

only three students in the past seven years to
receive an "excellent" from the college for her application portfolio.
She feels, given the opportunity, "the sky is the limit for me. I
want to major in art above all things and I want an education above all
things." She praised the support of "family, teachers and friends
and I will never let them down." Her proud parents are Casey and
Cindy Turner of Crossville. |
